Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 of 1985 in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix realized early on that she was gifted in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in only 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. Felix graduated from high school and signed an agreement to Adidas. In 2004, she began her studies at an institution called the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. She set an Junior World Record taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. She was the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007 beating long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed at the top of the podium in all events.
